Adult braces have increased in popularity as it has become the most natural way to create a straight and healthy smile, without having to drill your teeth for crowns and veneers.
Tooth straightening is our most popular cosmetic dental treatment here at The Edge Dental, with hundreds of patients having undergone adult braces with Nadeem Ahmed, our resident dentist with a specialist interest in Orthodontics.
We offer most of the systems available on the market, to ensure there is something that will suit your needs. Some patients want the convenience of an invisible brace, some want the quickest solution and others want a more affordable option. The team at The Edge Dental are here to give you their honest opinion on what will suit you.
We offer the following systems:
Smilealign™
Smilealign™ treatment entails wearing a series of transparent aligners, which are similar to mouth guards worn by athletes. Every few weeks, we’ll send you a new set of aligners; each pair will be slightly adjusted to encourage the gradual movement of your teeth.
Benefits of Smilealign™
- Transparent and barely noticeable
- Removable for eating and cleaning
- Tackles a variety of orthodontic problems
- Comfortable to wear
- Gentle and effective movement of teeth
- Made entirely in the UK by S4S Dental Laboratories in Sheffield
Fixed Cosmetic Braces
These are small, tooth-coloured ceramic blocks which are placed on every tooth and are held together with a wire. All the components used are tooth-coloured to ensure they give a great cosmetic appearance. The wire is changed and adjusted every month to allow the teeth to move.
Once you have finished your braces, you will be provided with fixed and removable retainers to ensure your teeth remain in the same position indefinitely.
Fixed Lingual Braces
These are small metal blocks placed on the inside surface of the teeth and function in the same way as conventional fixed braces. However, lingual braces are completely invisible to everyone else, so you can continue to carry out your everyday tasks.
